Evaluating the treatment outcomes of distal metaphyseal tibia fractures with Metaizeau nail

Objectives: To evaluate the treatment outcomes of distal metaphyseal tibia fractures with Metaizeau nail. Subjects and methods: Prospective study on 48 patients with distal metaphyseal tibial fractures treated by Metaizeau nail at the Trauma - Orthopedic Department, St. Paul Hospital, from 01/2014 to 12/2018. Results: Excellent: 9.1%; good: 81.8%, fair: 9.1%; bad: 0.0%. There was no complications of osteitis, pseudarthrosis. Conclusions: The titanium elastic nailing (TEN) could be reasonable indication for unstable distal metaphyseal tibia fractures. * Keywords: Distal metaphyseal tibia fracture; Metaizeau nail; Titanium elastic nailing.
