Tóm tắt
Objectives: To describe the stereopsis of military medical students at the Military Medical University and assess some factors affecting the stereo image and their meaning. Subjects and methods: The descriptive cross-sectional study on stereopsis measured by Fly stereo acuity test was carried out 297 military medical students, Vietnam Military Medical University. Results: All research subjects had a coarse stereopsis. There were 54.5% of students reaching the best fine stereopsis (20 seconds of arc), 30.3% reaching 25 seconds of arc, 8.8% reaching 32 seconds of arc, 4.4% reaching 40 seconds of arc, 1% reaching 50 seconds of arc. There were only 0.3% of students having low fine stereopsis (from 100 seconds of arc and higher). Fine stereopsis values were decreased statistically (p < 0.05) in the group of astigmatism compared with the group of emmetropia and simple myopia. There was no difference between male and female groups as well as between different severities of myopia. However, the fine stereopsis of moderate astigmatism group was statistically lower than that of mild astigmatism group (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The stereopsis of astigmatism medical students should be paid attention which contributes to help career guidance.
